I think some good hardhouse would do the trick dan, nothing to fast around 145 - 150 bpm, threat to society springs to mind or any thing that has been realeased on vc, nothing to cheesy or nothing to overbearing, i got plenty of tracks that would do the trick.

something with a powerful/catchy melody

nothing else matters would definately work

rock civilisation by headhunterz would be perfect. catchy slightly cheesy melody, and the vocals were originally written by pendulum for their intro on hold your colour. appeals to a perth target audience with the hard dance twist on top.

so long as its any sort of hard dance track with a good enough melody or 'hook', it would work

either that, or get a bunch of the pulse djs to get together and compose original music. im getting right into the producing now, learning more every day, i know techen's producing, and macca's more than proficient enough already with cubase to do an original track for this.

but the kind of stuff im thinking of i think is more housey house rather than hard house... like with cheesy vocal breaks and the softer beats and stuff

no offence jezza but dont talk bout shit you know nothing about, this is y hardhouse has got such a bad name beacuse ppl who dont listen or have never listened to it open there fucking mouth and dribble shit bout a genre they may have heard 2 or 3 songs of, look at labels like vicious circle, deprivation, 999, flash point, just bout anything thats distribued by toolbox and you will find what proper hardhouse is all bout, artists like, paul glazby, andy farley, ben stevens, tim clews, vc and the redhead.
If you want it harder look at nrg labels like, nosebleed, easy skanking, mad cow, twisted tracks, passionand artists like grady g, narc, kam pain and riggsy.

hmmmm yeah, pretty sure i'm a big fan of both hard house/hard trance, but alot of people just talk down on it... they don't really understand the difference between genre's
